Dragon Age: Origins of Love & War (-1Small-thumbs-down)

I've always wondered what it would be like back then in the medieval ages. This game doesn't show it, due to the fanasty world of elves, dwarfs, and of course, humans. But it is "out of control" in good [or should I say perfect] terms for any RPGers out there.

Six origins. One Plot.
Pretty much, everyone starts out different. You have your races which you can choose from: Dwarf, Elves, and Human. But the races have different origins [or as you would say, different starting points in life], except the humans, which only have one. Basically, these origins change the storyline of which is to come. Like for example, for the dwarf, there's Dwarf Noble and Dwarf Common. If you choose to be a Noble, you will basically be known as a king's son, and if chosen a Common, you would just be some brother living with a sister. Each Origin sets off your character's story, but they all lead to one main story plot: An enemy called the Darkspawn is going to take over the lands unless you unite with your so-called friends... blah blah blah.

Combat... Yeah.
So enough about the that, basically you got your classes: Warrior, Rogue and Mage. The game plays somewhat like Neverwinter Nights, except you group up with 3 other npc "friends" which you can pick up along your adventure, and you can also control them, and not just your character. Each has their own tactic and is basically able to handle action commands when you're not controlling them, unless you wanna change their tactic, then go ahead. Simple as that.

I love my friends... sometimes too much.
I have to admit, Bioware does a great job with doing conversations with NPCs. Sometimes, I admit I feel for these characters and sometimes, it can go A LITTLE overboard. As mention in the EBRS, their is sexual content in the game. It's not bad, I mean there's the normal way, the "Girl-on-Girl" way, and then there's "Guy-on-Guy" way. Yeah, don't ask me about that. That's how Bioware does it. It's just a good thing they wear their under garments.

Oh, tis the beautiful land.
I also have to admit that the game looks amazing on the PC. But on the PS3 and Xbox 360, the game attends to look a little... bland. I mean, the PS3 looks like it has some HD, but the Xbox 360 looks like they were just adding standard graphics instead. I also must say that this game is more for the PC, since the controlling of the PS3 and Xbox 360 mechanics are a little sloppy.

Dragon Age: Origins is a perfect game for any RPGers out there. Don't worry if the game has any bugs and what not, BioWare is indeed keeping this one updated.
